The Challenge of Shifting Left

After a career in the UK military and private sector consulting, including a number of leadership roles, David became CISO at Neo4j; his challenge to make security part of Neo4js DNA. David discusses his journey to securing the his current role, with insights on on his experience and bias in the industry to be wary about. He also discusses some of the questions posed in making security considered at every part of business delivery and why every day is a good day in his role.

David Fox - He joined the RAF in 1988 He gave his first computer security presentation in 1991 He was the RAF Typhoon Security Officer at introduction to service He used to be able to tell people what every bit in MIL-STD 1553 Databus did! He led a team that risk assessed the NotPetya virus hours before it became public He has held multiple CISO & CSO roles He live in a city famous for 126 roundabouts and concrete cows!
